Wagor’s Infinite Power – 18th Anniversary Sports Day 葳力無窮 牛仔很忙！ 葳格校慶運動會
This year’s Sports Day marked the 18th anniversary for Wagor International School - Elementary School Xitun Campus. It was held on November 30th. Drums rolled as a traditional lion dance embodied the spirit of Wagor to encourage all the young athletes. All of the students dressed like cowboys to match the theme. Members of the Parents Advisory Committee and all the teachers wore the Wagor sports uniform. The funny and energetic Wagor mascot, the Little Jaguar, added excitement to the opening ceremony. Principal Shen dressed up as a cool sheriff was a highlight of the day!
Next, all the second graders performed an amazing dance together led by Ms. Nie. They were adorably cute as they showed their enthusiasm through a series of songs. The school also invited a Competitive Cheerleading squad to perform to celebrate Wagor’s birthday.
After that, it was time for the sporting events. The school designed many races and fun activities, like kangaroo jumps, three-legged races, a group jump rope event, and a very exciting relay race. The campus was full of cheerful people!
During Principal Shen’s speech at the opening ceremony, he said that he believed he could lead Wagor International School to become a benchmark in education. Wagor has put a lot of emphasis on bilingual education, so we heard both Chinese and English instructions throughout Sports Day. Wagor has truly created an international environment for its students to build up their language ability.
Mr. Huang, the Chairperson of Wagor’s Parents Advisory Committee, who represents all the committee members and parent volunteers, also gave a speech. He encouraged all the teachers and the parents to work together and listen to the needs of students. He would like the Parents Advisory Committee to be the strongest support for the school and help Wagor children to fulfill their dreams in the future.
