Over 1,000 parents participated our Open House event on September 27th and September 28th. They were eager to observe our teachers’ teaching and their children’s learning.

For example, Teacher Jack, one of our Art teachers, introduced masks from different Asian countries in a 2nd grade Art class. He also integrated the theme of our Sports day this year “Sports in Oceania” in his class. His students made and designed their own masks representing those countries. Both the parents and children experienced the beauty of art during this activity.

Another example comes from our new iWagor coding class. Tr. Tanya led a 5th grade class through a series of puzzles on the Code.org website to demonstrate the use of Blockly as a coding tool for students and show how JavaScript is used by computer programmers. Her students all have their own account on the site and they write algorithms and programs independently to complete lessons. This is one way that students at Wagor are involved in our Maker initiative.

       During Open House, our parents enjoyed the fun of learning at Wagor Bilingual Elementary School. One of the parents who attended a Grade 4 Modern Studies class gave some feedback. She said, “It’s an interesting lesson, and it was well presented. Students seemed to enjoy the class very much.” Like many other parents, she showed appreciation to the school and thanked our teachers for their hard work.

     超過一千位家長的踴躍參與，校園內人山人海。觀課的同時體驗多樣化教學風格與多元的學習型態。

     銀平主任教授二年級藝術與人文課程，帶領孩子認識亞洲各國面具。

     課程中提到面具在人類文化發展過程中，佔有重要地位。結合今年葳格小學運動會主題 Sports in Oceania，以製作面具的課程設計中，在課堂中先讓孩子了解各個國家：日本，韓國，峇里島，印度……等面具特色，進而激發孩子創意美感。在活動中呈現各國面具風采，讓爸爸媽媽及孩子們體驗一趟美的旅程。

       Tr. Tanya在五年級i Wagor Coding課程中，將今年新興創客課程透過一系列的Coding解碼活動，教導孩子如何使用網頁中的程式積木，堆疊出解碼動作；透過簡單的程式積木以了解深奧的程式語言，讓孩子建立程式語言的邏輯性並勇於嘗試，成為有效率的問題解決者。

        在教學參觀日，讓家長也感受到如沐春風的優質學習場域，深深沉醉在學習的樂趣中。參加G4 Social studies觀課的家長填寫回饋單說: It’s an interesting lesson and well-presented. They seemed to enjoy the class very much. 同時也表達感謝每位老師用心教學及對教學團隊的讚許。
