The 16^th annual Wagor Bilingual Elementary School Sports Day was held on November 11^th, and the theme this year was Sports Day in Oceania.

  The Vahine performed a traditional Tahitian dance to open the Sports Day events. This was followed by the entry of the athletes. All the students wore masks they designed and made in Art class. During the opening, the school mascot, the “Wagor Jaguar”, surprised everyone by popping out of a giant paper cake. After that, our lovely and energetic second graders performed their “Shake It Off” dance.

  In speeches made by the executive director, Ms. Wu, a board member, Mr. Yuan, and the Principal, Mr. Shen, they said that Wagor Bilingual Elementary School has built up a reputation for having expertise with bilingual, Maker, and technological education. The Chairman of the Parents’ Advisory Committee, Ms. Lin, said that parents and teachers should work together to help children achieve their goals. On Sports Day, Mr. Huang, Principal of Wagor High School, and Steven Ballowe, Principal of Wagor International School, also came to celebrate this important occasion with us.

  小學部16週年校慶暨運動大會，11月11日於西屯校區盛大舉辦，今年校慶運動會開幕式會場布置採大洋洲面具嘉年華風格，並訂名為「Sports Day In Oceania」。

  本次開幕式暖場活動，特邀Vahine 大溪地舞團到場表演祝賀，也為所有小小選手們提升了不少高昂的氣勢。 每一位運動員採繞場方式進場，亦結合藝術與人文領域課程，由每位孩子精心為自己打造屬於班級風格的面具裝飾，更增添了開幕典禮熱鬧活潑的氛圍，在開幕式最後更邀請到了神秘嘉賓與葳格小學共同慶賀生日快樂，去年運動會透過學生票選出來的吉祥物小豹誕生了，帶著全體師生與嘉賓們一起為葳格小學唱出16歲生日快樂!!。場中央大型蛋糕破瞬間爆開，葳格豹帶著空飄氣球魔術般的彈跳出現旋即繽紛升空，操場的天空璀璨繽紛，在全校師生及家長的驚艷聲中，熱鬧揭開各項競賽序幕。

  大會舞「Shake It Off」是由本校聶廷潔老師指導全體二年級，透過一連串組曲展現孩子健康可愛的模樣， 透過天真的動作展現出來，更散發了活潑有朝氣的活力。

  葳格教育體系執行董事吳菀庭女士及袁復邦董事在開幕致詞都讚揚，葳格創校10餘年來，已建立「雙語國際學校」的優良口碑，從學生的發展成果與家長的肯定就可以看出； 而未來將更大步向前邁進，推動創客及科技課程等，為孩子培養更為寬廣的國際觀。

小學部沈月清校長開幕致詞時表示，相信未來定能帶領葳格教育體系大步向前邁進，成為教育界的標竿；並表示葳格的教育理念特別注重雙語教育，運動會也是一樣，每一個班級與活動項目，皆為雙語說明，讓葳格的孩子隨時都能身處在雙語的環境裡，以養成語言的基本能力。

  家長會會長林靜宜女士代表家長與志工們致詞時提到，希望藉運動會與校慶的機會，勉勵親師們協同努力，傾聽孩子的需要，成就葳格孩子們的夢想與未來。

  此外，高中部校長黃開成和許多西屯區校長親臨參與，國際部校長及各界教育先進，也都到場共襄盛舉。

  緊接著是各項活動的進行，趣味競賽，依照年級與特性設計出多項搭配籃球為主軸的活動，一、二年級的投好壯壯，三、四年級的火車快飛， 五、六年級的翻滾吧!大球，還有刺激緊張的大隊接力。為了不讓孩子們專美於前，「翻滾吧!大球」活動還有進階版的親師對抗賽， 場內場外打成一片、笑成一團，好不熱鬧。
