The Importance of Firefighting Equipment and Fire Protection

  To enrich students’ knowledge of firefighting, our school invited the Shuinan Firefighting Team from Fire Bureau of Taichung City Government to promote the importance of preventing fire hazards and teach Wagorians the basic firefighting techniques. In the lecture, students were able to learn the differences between fire protection equipment and firefighting equipment. Furthermore, they were invited for a real experience of smoke from fire. During the second part of this event, students were broken up into small groups and were invited to conduct physical practices in firefighting drills on campus. As teachers often say, the most effective way of learning is to learn kinesthetically. Our students had a blast and learned much about firefighting in this special occasion. 

  葳格高中附設小學105學年度防火宣導，本校特邀台中市政府消防局水湳分隊於3月17日下午在小學部校區內進行，水湳分隊特別派出消防車到學校實際演練宣導，讓小朋友除了聽解說，還能實際體驗各項消防配備及拍照，更增添了許多無比新奇的新體驗。

  這次的消防演練，由學務處會同五年級共同辦理，於小學部寬敞的校園場地，分組進行宣導與體驗，小朋友除聆聽說明講解外，也能夠盡情活動與親身體驗，更是提升了宣導的效果。

  本次宣導內容共分三站，分別是防火器材介紹、滅火器介紹與使用及濃煙體驗等三站，各班老師帶著學生輪流分站上課；消防隊的大哥哥在讓小朋友實際體驗前，每一個項目都先進行詳細解說。如實際體驗消防車內的各項裝備與消防裝備的穿著、滅火器的實際操作（實際滅火），與最令小朋友感到刺激的室內濃煙逃生，讓體驗學習如何在伸手不見五指的環境中，能不慌張的操作逃生要領。

  五年級本次的消防逃生初體驗，除了解說外，更加入了實際的操作與體驗，讓原本枯燥的宣導內容變成充滿驚奇與新鮮感的實際體驗，也更加深了學童防火與逃生的相關認知，相信未來如遇到類似的事件，必能保護自己遠離危險的處境。
