The ceremony of this year’s Family Appreciation celebration was carried out on May 12^th, 2017. This ceremony started off with the school delivering carnations out to parent representatives of each class, led by Jolin Wu, president of Parents’ Committee. Ms. Wu quoted, “We feel honored to be a part of this meaningful celebration, the root of understanding comes from constant communication and bonding, this helps to encourage parents to support the school and contribute to its sustainable development.” Many performances were carried out during the ceremony. It started out with a talk show which entertained the crowd with joy and laughter. Then, the school choir brought us two incredible songs that touched everybody’s heart with their beautiful melody and lyrics. After that, it was English poetry read aloud. Two students from the upper grades delivered an amazing poetry to show our appreciation to all parents on site, and this also demonstrated the success of English education at Wagor Elementary School. The principal, Mary Chen, stated, “When we educate the minds of our children, we must not forget to also educate their hearts. We educate our students from their hearts, and guide them to become people full of love and understand the essence of caring. This is an important goal of ours and the reason why we celebrate Family Appreciation Day at Wagor.”

溫馨五月天、感恩在心田

　　在溫馨的五月，葳格小學舉辦一系列活動，並於5/12早上舉辦一場溫馨而富有意義的校內慶祝感恩活動，典禮中更是邀請各班班召成為各班受贈花朵的家長代表，矣讓這個五月天更具實質的意義。

　　一開始，校長便隆重介紹各班班召入場以揭開序幕，而本屆家長委員會吳會長亦親臨現場，除親自感謝到場觀禮的家長共同支持學校的永續發展外，更是贊助全校學生每人一束康乃馨帶回家，以表達學校及孩子的祝福。

　　慶典活動的安排，輔導室發揮巧思，以一段相聲表演作為開場，搏得現場所有親師生一片的歡樂與掌聲，隨後由王郁恩老師帶領獲得臺中市國小學生英語歌謠比賽三連霸殊榮的本校合唱團，以兩首溫馨又動人的曲目，將整個活動帶進濃濃的感恩情緒裡，隨之而來的英語詩歌朗讀，更是本校英語教育紮實成果表現的體現。過程中，葳格孩子的個個表演精彩。

　　而整場活動在各班家長代表上台接受獻花時，進入最高潮，現場氣氛溫馨滿分。在慶典結束的同時，合唱團所有的團員們也扮演著獻花小天使的角色，在會場中穿梭，將一束束康乃馨散播傳遞給現場的老師，亦讓所有的師長備感溫馨。

　　校長指出，一束康乃馨所代表的意義具有多重面向，而葳格的教育始終相信，讓孩子從「心」做起，是一切教育的根本價值，唯有透過孩子與家長不斷有意義的互動，「愛」才能真正傳遞到內心深處，而教師，只是協助孩子發掘自己那顆良善心靈的引導角色。溫馨的五月天，祝福大家快樂！
