Wagor Bilingual Elementary School held a special event – “Welcome to Wagor, Freshman!” on Saturday, August 26, 2017. The first graders and their parents were invited to school before the first day of the school year. Holding the event on a weekend and with the attendance of their beloved parents, limited the anxious feelings of the freshman. “The parents do not have to take any private leave from the work for their children’s big moment.” said the director of the counseling office, Mr. Jiang.

Instead of having children sitting in the class listening to their teachers for their first day, the homeroom teachers took kids out of the classroom for a treasure hunt. Children rotated through seven different games to get gifts. These unique and enjoyable activities made the freshman’s first day unforgettable. The parents highly appreciated what the school had done for the children. “A fun and meaningful event at the first of the school helps young children shorten their adaption time and integrate into the school life faster.” said the Principal, Mr. Shen.　　

　　新學期到來，一年級238位新生來到校園，為讓學生能有更充分的時間準備上課，也讓家長了解學校，安心將孩子送到葳格，學校特地於8月26日舉辦「2017歡歡喜喜來上學」迎新活動，活動中融入生活指導，讓孩子們能學習到簡單而重要的意涵，進而成為一位快樂的葳格小一新鮮人。

　　輔導主任江躍龍表示，雖然8月30日才是新學期的第一天，但學校利用假日提前辦理迎新活動，讓家長們不必特地請假，也可以參與孩子們的重要時刻，校長沈月清也親自陪著家長與孩子到活動結束。

　　踏入小學校園是孩子充滿紀念意義的新階段，學校也為各班級準備一面專屬的留影牆，讓孩子們與家長在重要的時刻留下一幅珍貴的畫面，也象徵著全新旅程的起跑。

　　這次活動是由學校準備七樣小禮物，讓孩子們在各班老師的帶領下，前往各尋寶關卡完成指令，便能獲得這些富有意義的入學禮物，而透過活動也希望孩子們能了解到這些小禮物的代表意涵。

　　參與迎新活動的孩子反應都很好，家長也對活動讚不絕口，直說學校非常用心，透過活動贈送給孩子小禮物以及指導其意涵，所給予的內在精神早已超越禮物本身的價值，從中亦道出學校的用心與巧思。沈校長說，迎新活動可在開學日當天發揮很好的效果，讓每個新鮮人都能順利融入校園生活，未來六年必能在葳格有很好的學習及成長。
