Get a First-hand Students’ Experience in Fire Safety Demonstration

Remembering simple fire prevention tips could be a matter of life and death. On Wednesday afternoon, we had our annual Fire Safety Demonstration. Students got to participate in a simulation of being in an actual burning building. In groups of five or six, students walked through the fire department’s “Smoke House,” which is a fire prevention tool, used to show students what it’s like to be in a fire. A machine fills the room with harmless “smoke” to simulate a real fire. They also learned how to use a fire extinguisher and a fire hose. Have a smoke free day!

掌握消防常識，永保安全一世

3月9日下午三時，消防車緩緩駛入葳格小學校園，並沒有伴隨著令人緊張的警笛聲，是因為這次的任務，要讓葳格的孩子了解消防的重要性，並實際體驗與操作防火的動作。

本次消防宣導與規劃，是由臺中市消防大隊水湳分隊派隊蒞臨本校進行，共分為三站。分別是消防車與設備介紹、滅火器操作與火場逃生知識濃煙體驗，整個過程不只是紙上談兵的講解說明，而是融入實作與體驗的課程，讓宣導更加多元並讓小朋友留下深刻印象。

              本校林坤燦總校長指出，葳格除了與世界接軌外，生活安全也是學校著重的教育重點之一，透過這次的消防宣導，教導學童從小建立正確的防火觀念與避難逃生知識，並實際操作滅火器與模擬火場濃煙逃生，就是要更真實的讓學童能夠感受到火災     

                的嚴重與可怕，進而能夠在災害發生時，以最短的時間進行最好的處置，讓自己與周遭的人可以遠離危險，保護自身生命安全。
