To ensure students’ safety, we practiced a school bus evacuation drill on September 25th.

First, students watched a video to learn what they needed to know when evacuating from a school bus in case of an emergency.

When on the bus, students should keep the following in mind:

One – Seatbelt:

Fasten the seatbelt.

Two – Fire Extinguishers:

One is located behind the driver’s seat. Another is located near the emergency exit. There are three steps to operate a fire extinguisher. You need to pull the pin. Aim the hose and squeeze the lever while moving the hose from side to side.

Three – Emergency Hammers:

One is located beside the driver’s seat. Two more are installed next to the exit windows.

Four – Emergency Exit Windows:

All buses have emergency exitwindows. These are identifiable by illuminated 'emergency exit' stickers. An emergency hammer is provided to hit the four corners of the window; push on the center of the window to break the glass.

Five –Emergency Exits:

There are five exits on each bus. They are by the driver’s seat, the front door, the rear door, the emergency exit, and the roof emergency exit. You should only use the roof emergency exit if the bus is no longer upright or the doors can’t be opened.

After listening to all the instructions for safe emergency evacuation procedures, students practiced how to lift the latch and open the door.

In an actual emergency, to ensure the safety of school bus passengers, each student should be instructed on proper safety precautions. This will ensure that there are fewer injuries or fatalities resulting from a traffic accident.

為確保學生乘坐校車的安全，9/25實施校車逃生演練，先讓學生觀看逃生資訊影片，了解每個緊急逃生裝置的位置及使用方式，小朋友一上車就要掌握各項用具的位置，記住12345的口訣

1：一條安全帶；每個座位都有一條安全帶，坐下要馬上繫好。

2：兩支滅火器；每台車子都要有兩支滅火器，一支在駕駛座後面，一支在車輛的中後部，多在安全門旁邊，並熟悉滅火器「拉拉壓」的使用要領。

3：三支車窗擊破器；每台大客車都要有三支車窗擊破器，一支在駕駛座旁邊，兩支在車輛的中間跟後面的窗柱上。

4：四個車窗擊破點；遇緊急危難時，持車窗擊破器敲擊標示有「緊急出口」玻璃的四個角落（通常會在玻璃上標示位置），用力擊破再推開玻璃逃生。要注意的是，如果不是被標示為「緊急出口」的玻璃，很有可能因材質不同，而無法順利擊破，影響寶貴的逃生時間。

5：五個逃生出口；一輛大客車通常要有5個逃生口，駕駛座旁的門，乘客上、下車的前、後車門，緊急逃生門以及車頂逃生門，並特別說明車頂逃生門是在車輛翻覆或其它車門因故無法開啟時使用。

    說明完畢後，學生實際操作安全帶與安全門的開啟，透過實際演練建立學生的基本危機意識，提昇意外發生時的應變能力，並熟悉各種逃生措施，降低交通意外造成的傷害，才能避免憾事的發生。
