The first day back after the winter break, all the students brought back their interesting winter break crafts. These crafts were made from a combination of science, math, geography, and art materials. The students were tasked with creating a travel plan and then making a craft based on the places they traveled to during the vacation. Due to COVID-19, most families were unable to travel outside Taiwan this year; however, this gave families time to enjoy the many great things Taiwan has to offer. The new Taichung MRT was a highlight for some students. As you look at the pictures, you can see and experience all the amazing places that students traveled to during their vacation. These projects are now being displayed in all the classrooms.

葳格數學週 —   來一場夢幻小旅行with臺中捷運

隨著寒假結束，開學第一天小朋友們提著五花八門、琳瑯滿目的寒假作業回來，也象徵著孩子們著實過了一個充實的寒假。在葳格師長們的巧思規劃下，每個學期都會有不同的學科主題週登場，繼上學期的自然週結合了孩子們最喜歡的角落小夥伴為主題，讓不同年級的孩子們發揮巧思並運用於自然課所學習到力學及結構等相關理論，創作出許多出色的作品。這學期的數學週主題更是在許多老師的巧思發想下，除了配合數學中舉凡時間的計算、遠近距離的估算、幾何圖形的認知……等基礎概念的運用，也進一步跨領域結合美勞課的透過不同媒材來進行設計、製作，以及生活課中旅遊行程規劃及記錄等綜合能力，更重要的是讓孩子們能帶領著爸爸媽媽一同走出教室和課本，在從去年到現在因為COVID-19影響下無法出國的情況下，和即將通車的臺中捷運先來一段夢想中的小旅遊！透過各班老師發揮展示佈置在教室內外每一個地方包含櫃子上、窗台邊，讓來來往往的孩子們彷彿身歷其境，不但讓葳格的孩子們體會到數學不僅僅是在數字與公式間的組合，還有著「讀萬卷書、行萬里路」的魅力與樂趣，同時也讓這一段親子共學的旅程伴隨著葳格的爸爸媽媽和孩子們度過了一個難忘的寒假假期。
