The 19^th Annual Sports Day for Wagor International School - Xitun Campus was held on November 28^th. The fencing team led the opening. They marched out and completed a synchronized routine with great energy and vitality. They showcased their footwork and tactical skills through a series of warm up drills. Following behind were all the participants with their spectacular Pokémon Go themed costumes which showed their creativity. The march symbolized the training that students undergo while completing projects designed by our teaching staff which not only encourage them to explore adventures but also face challenges and difficulties. Our enthusiastic Wagor leopard mascot and Charizard started the official opening by igniting the torch.

       The Royal Dance Troupe and the Stylish Dancing Club were invited to perform before the events started. The former showed off dynamic ballet and cheerleading skills while the latter demonstrated vigorous freestyle dancing. The second graders performed the opening Wash Your Hands song, led by Mr. Liu, with high-spirits. These performances ensured that our students felt happy and confident, and motivated them to try their very best in the competition. We firmly believe that once students are in a positive state of mind, they can do their best!

       After the opening ceremony, the sports competitions started. A variety of sports and interesting competitions were designed for our students based on the different grades and specialties. These included kangaroo jumping, three-legged races, rope jumping, frisbee accuracy games, and a most exciting relay race. The track field was filled with the sound of joyous laughter and cheering.

       Principal Guo indicated at the opening that the school is striving to become the benchmark in foreign languages, technology, math, and all-around education in Taiwan. Most importantly, our school must put a lot of emphasis on international education. Students can not only gain academic achievement, but also enhance team cohesion and integration along with a sense of collective honor.

       The President of the Parents’ Committee, Mr. Huang, mentioned that he hoped we will keep working together and help students to surpass their best efforts. The most valuable aspect is enabling our Parent’s Association to be the anchor for our school while, at the same time, fulfilling students’ dreams in the future.

       葳格國際學校小學部西屯校區19週年運動會在11/28盛大舉辦，一開始登場的是擊劍校隊選手，以雄赳赳、氣昂昂的西洋劍舞，散發出氣勢如虹的活力，也為所有小小選手們提升高昂的鬥志。緊接著所有選手以寶可夢的造型裝扮進場，場面壯觀富有創意，除了展現出學校平日賦予孩子探索冒險的教育精神，也鼓舞所有小小選手們面對挑戰、向前邁進的氣勢。小葳豹及噴火龍聯袂點燃聖火的逗趣橋段、精彩熱鬧，在全校師生及家長的歡笑聲中，正式揭開運動會的序幕。

       在各項競賽開始之前，穿插三段舞蹈組合表演。首先是享譽已久的皇家舞蹈團，帶來融合了芭蕾舞及啦啦隊舞的表演，讓現場嘉賓眼睛一亮，給予熱烈的掌聲。緊跟在後的風格舞蹈社，更讓全場家長的手機無法放下，這群孩子年紀最大的不超過8歲，但表演的內容與散發的熱情卻遠遠的超過他們的年紀。他們用整齊劃一、力量爆棚的動作，認真地秀出最好的自己，這種自信與無畏將是他們未來成長最大的助力。大會舞是由劉軒宏老師指導全體二年級，透過一連串健康組曲展現孩子健康可愛的模樣，而孩子們天真又認真的動作，更散發了活潑有朝氣的活力。

       緊接著是各項運動競賽的進行，依照年級與特性設計出多項運動與趣味競賽活動，從袋鼠跳、兩人三腳、小組跳繩與飛盤擲準大賽，還有刺激緊張的大隊接力。今日運動會場內場外打成一片，好不熱鬧。

       葳格小學校長過修齊開幕致詞時表示，葳格國際學校全體系正大步向前邁進，無論是外語、科技、數理及全人教育等各方面都將成為台灣教育界的標竿；並表示葳格的教育理念特別注重國際教育，即使運動會也是一樣，每一個班級與活動項目，皆為雙語說明，讓葳格的孩子隨時都能融入在國際語文的環境裡，以養成語言的基本能力。

       家長會會長黃怡仁先生代表家長委員與志工們致詞時提到，希望藉校慶運動會的機會，勉勵親師們協同努力，傾聽孩子的需要，讓家長委員會成為學校最強而有力的後盾，成就葳格孩子們的夢想與未來。
